The new Hakkapeliitta R5 SUV tire handles all Nordic winter conditions and behaves predictably on bare, wet, icy, and snow-covered roads. The new Double Block Grip tread pattern guarantees excellent grip and handling, while unique Arctic Grip crystals provide top performance on ice. Microscopic crystals act as built-in spikes. As the tire wears, new crystals appear, increasing much-needed grip. Strong aramid sidewalls ensure durability and protection in demanding driving conditions. The strong, synthetic aramid fiber used in the rubber compound reinforces the tire sidewalls, making the tire more resistant to punctures and cuts that could otherwise damage it. Accidental tire damage can lead to high subsequent expenses, but aramid sidewalls can prevent tire damage altogether. Starting with the material selection, the new Hakkapeliitta R5 SUV tire was developed to leave a smaller carbon footprint. The tough rubber compound works in a wide range of temperatures and ensures excellent durability, while low rolling resistance reduces fuel consumption and harmful emissions.
