Fuel efficiency
Fuel efficiency is important to reduce both CO2 emissions and the cost of driving. The difference between each category means a reduction or increase in fuel consumption of 3-4%.Wet grip/Breaking performance
Wet grip is a critical safety feature. Tyres are rated A - E; A being the shortest braking distances in the wet. The difference in category can mean an extra car length (3-6 meters) on the stopping distance.Noise emission/Exterior noise
There are three ratings for noise: A, B and C.A produces the least external noise levels, whilst C produces the highest.
Goodyear DuraGrip is characterized by a silica-enriched compound that improves tire mileage, enhances wet performance, and ensures shorter braking distance. The tire is also characterized by an asymmetrical tread pattern and two continuous outer ribs, allowing for better handling due to maximum increase in dry surface grip. The open tread portion and circumferential grooves provide better wet handling and aquaplaning resistance. The solid outer shoulder blocks provide lateral stability at high speeds, while the 3D-BIS lamellas ensure excellent stability under high pressure and maximum braking performance. The most important features and characteristics are: - fuel savings and high mileage lifespan - aquaplaning resistance and better wet performance - very quiet.
