The Scorpion range has the highest number of Elect homologations in the entire Pirelli product catalog: for pure electric or plug-in hybrid cars. One of the distinctive features of the new Scorpion range is the Pirelli "Eco-Safety" design. This describes the design philosophy that combines environmental friendliness - thanks to lower rolling resistance and tire longevity - with the best possible driving performance and safety. The new range focuses on over 400 original equipment homologations, with over 50% for electric vehicles. The latest Pirelli Scorpion summer tire features a new asymmetric tread pattern that allows for better braking compared to its predecessor and reduced rolling resistance, resulting in reduced fuel or battery consumption. This is due to a more even contact patch with the road surface and a new compound that draws inspiration from the technology applied to the current Cinturato P7. These tires benefit from a kind of "mechanical intelligence" thanks to the way silicon dioxide particles in the compound are distributed and interact with each other. This means that the tire's behavior actually changes depending on the outdoor temperature and driving conditions, providing drivers with a wide operating window of optimal performance. This tire was manufactured using Pirelli's patented process, which is directly derived from the Italian company's experience at the highest level of motorsport. The new Scorpion is also incredibly quiet, emitting three decibels less noise than its predecessor, which means a quieter life for everyone.
